Two police officers were killed and two others seriously injured in a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) attack at Kulun Border Point Four along the Mandera-Somalia border on Wednesday. The attack, which occurred approximately 100 metres inside Kenya, targeted officers on duty.

The deceased officers were identified as Corporal Mohammed Abdow Issack and Police Constable Abdirashid Shabellow Ali, both from the National Police Reserve (NPR).
One officer, Athan Noor Abdullah Abdi, is in critical condition at Mandera Referral Hospital, while Abdullahi Jillow Adan is stable.
Security teams safely detonated a secondary IED and the DCI Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) is leading ongoing investigations.
