Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has announced new regulations to prevent healthcare facilities from charging for vaccination services, which are meant to be free. The Ministry of Health will require all facilities to display a list of free services.

• The government provides sufficient funds for vaccinations, yet some hospitals charge for these services.
• CS Duale made the announcement during the launch of the National Cervical Cancer Elimination Action Plan 2026-2030 on Thursday, January 15.
• The plan includes transitioning to a single-dose HPV vaccination schedule and aims for 90 percent vaccination of girls against HPV, 70 percent screening of women, and 90 percent timely treatment for those diagnosed.
