A blogger, former President of Bunge la Mwananchi, has been arrested and charged with attempting to extort money from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). He allegedly used court documents to intimidate and blackmail the agency.

• The blogger was detained at KWS headquarters in Nairobi and presented at the JKIA Law Courts.
• KWS reported the incident to the police after preliminary findings suggested the blogger targeted the Office of the Director General with threats of adverse publicity and legal action.
• KWS warned against using court processes for ulterior motives like blackmail, stressing that this constitutes an abuse of the judicial process.
