Machakos County has launched a new fleet of road construction equipment under its Barabara Mashinani programme to enhance rural connectivity and accelerate road works across its 40 wards. Governor Wavinya Ndeti stated this initiative aims to reduce delays in maintenance and construction projects.

• The new equipment includes 10 motor graders, two high-capacity rollers, and a wheel loader.
• Governor Ndeti emphasized that reliable roads are vital for the economy, directly impacting farmers and traders.
• The county government has already graded over 3,100 kilometers of roads and performed maintenance on about 140 kilometers of bitumen roads.
