The Kenyan Ministry of Health is diligently preparing for the 2nd Eastern Africa Regional Global Health Security Summit (EARGHSS 2026), scheduled for January 27–29, 2026, in Nairobi. A high-level meeting, chaired by Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga, brought together stakeholders to finalize preparations for this major regional health security event.

• The summit, themed “Catalysing Collaboration and Local Manufacturing of Health Products for Africa’s Sovereign Health Security,” aims to strengthen regional cooperation and boost local production of health commodities.
• Over 1,500 participants from various sectors are expected to attend the three-day forum, culminating in regional commitments and the launch of Kenya’s Local Manufacturing Strategy for Health Products.
• Key institutions involved in the preparatory process include the Kenya Vision 2030 Secretariat, Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) East Africa Regional Coordinating Centre, and the Kenya BioVax Institute.
