Senior Counsel Ahmednassir Abdullahi has declared the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politically "dead" following the death of its founder Raila Odinga, dismissing efforts by interim leader Oburu Odinga to maintain its national viability as futile and a "fool's errand."

• Ahmednassir Abdullahi described Raila Odinga as the most consequential politician in Kenya over the past three decades, a "political behemoth" and the country’s "centre of gravity."
• He argued that Raila's political genius and charisma were non-transferable, asserting that "Raila cannot be cloned" and ODM cannot survive without him.
• Ahmednassir predicted that ODM would be "obliterated" in Nairobi in the 2027 General Election and advised the party to evacuate areas outside Luo Nyanza.
• Oburu Odinga, Raila's brother, has vowed to lead "very tough negotiations" with President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA), insisting ODM remains Kenya's biggest party.
