Cracks within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party intensified on Sunday, January 18, as East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) member Winnie Odinga accused some party leaders of attempting to oust members. Speaking at a rally in Kibira's Kamkunji area, Winnie contradicted Party leader Oburu Odinga's earlier statements, asserting that no one would be removed from the party and urging dialogue.

• Winnie Odinga, daughter of the late Raila Odinga, declared, "Nobody will be removed from the party," disagreeing with previous sentiments from Party leader Oburu Odinga.
• She accused some ODM leaders of trying to imitate her father and called for a National Delegates Committee (NDC) meeting and dialogue to resolve internal wrangles.
• Winnie also hinted at possible political interest in Nairobi County ahead of the 2027 elections and subtly aligned herself with Embakasi MP Babu Owino and ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
