President William Ruto has launched the disbursement of KSh 258.4 million for young entrepreneurs in Nairobi, Kiambu, and Kajiado counties under the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project Programme, assuring beneficiaries of continuous mentorship and training to ensure business success.
- A total of 10,337 young entrepreneurs in the three counties will each receive an initial KSh25,000 for business start-up or expansion.
- The government will provide ongoing mentorship to beneficiaries, helping them address challenges until their businesses succeed.
- KSh22,000 will be credited to each beneficiary’s Pochi la Biashara account, with KSh3,000 deposited into their Haba na Haba Savings Account managed by the National Social Security Fund.
- The NYOTA Programme aims to support 820,000 young entrepreneurs across all 47 Counties in its first phase, with beneficiaries receiving an additional KSh25,000 in the second phase, totaling KSh50,000 per individual.

President William Ruto oversaw the disbursement of funds under the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Programme. At an event at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, Sh708.8 million was disbursed to 14,176 youth from Nairobi, Kajiado, and Kiambu counties. A separate disbursement of KSh 258.4 million was also launched for young entrepreneurs in the same counties. President Ruto assured beneficiaries of continuous mentorship and training. To support this, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja announced a two-year waiver on business permits and licenses for young entrepreneurs benefiting from the NYOTA Fund. This initiative for new startups aims to boost youth entrepreneurship and complements the national government and World Bank-supported programme.
