Uganda's Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has issued graphic threats against opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, following his father President Yoweri Museveni's disputed re-election.

• Gen Kainerugaba vowed to "remove and extinguish" Wine's National Unity Platform (NUP) party and gave Wine 48 hours to surrender, or be treated as an outlaw.
• The threats came after Museveni, 81, was declared winner with 71.6% of the vote, while Wine garnered 24%, results widely rejected by observers.
• Wine, a former pop star, is currently in hiding after escaping house arrest, with his family remaining under house arrest.
• The World Liberty Congress condemned the threats, stating Kainerugaba publicly declared he would “shoot [Bobi] dead” and “promote the soldier who kills him."
