The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) has awarded the Malkia Strikers, Kenya’s national women's volleyball team, a US $50,000 scholarship to aid their preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
- The scholarship funds, sourced from Olympic Solidarity, will be utilized by the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) for key championships from now until 2028.
- NOC-K Secretary General John Ogola encouraged the Malkia Strikers to secure a direct Olympic qualification by winning the upcoming 2026 Women's Volleyball African Nations Championship in Nairobi, from August 23 to September 3.
- KVF Deputy President Paul Bitok stated the team needs 54 points to qualify for the Olympics, and the scholarship will fund participation in major events to boost their points tally.
