President William Ruto launched the disbursement of Ksh.168 million in start-up capital to 6,720 young entrepreneurs from Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi counties under the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) programme. This initiative aims to accelerate the growth of youth-led businesses across Kenya.

• Each beneficiary will receive Ksh.50,000 in grants, disbursed in two phases, with Ksh.22,000 for business and Ksh.3,000 for savings through NSSF’s Haba na Haba account.
• Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki emphasized that NYOTA provides grants, not loans, to support talented youth, including those without formal education.
• The programme is part of a national rollout expected to benefit 121,800 youths and be completed by February 3, 2026.
