Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga, identified as the patriarch of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga family, has convened a family meeting for February 1st amid an internal power struggle within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

• The meeting aims to address growing divisions within ODM, particularly between Oburu Oginga's faction, which favors pre-election coalition talks with President William Ruto, and EALA MP Winnie Odinga's camp, which insists on ODM fielding its own presidential candidate in 2027.
