Unionist and politician Seth Panyako has been dismissed from his role as a member of the Local Authorities Provident Fund (LAPFUND) Board by Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, effective January 23.

• Mbadi cited powers under Section 5 (1) (d) of the Local Authorities Provident Fund Act for the revocation.
• Panyako was initially appointed to the board in March 2023 by former Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u.
• His tenure faced controversy due to his bid for the Malava parliamentary seat, which he lost with 20,210 votes to David Ndakwa's 21,564 votes in the November 27, 2025 by-election.
