The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), along with other stakeholders, have launched significant reforms to ease congestion and accelerate cargo clearance at the Port of Mombasa.

  • Long-stay cargo, including consignments over 21 days old and earmarked for auction or destruction, will be relocated to designated Container Freight Stations.
  • The KRA will expand its Pre-Arrival Processing framework for bulk cargo, low-risk shipments, and Authorized Economic Operator consignments.
