The National Construction Authority (NCA) has mandated all contractors to renew their annual practising licences by February 10, 2026, warning that those failing to do so for two consecutive years as of January 1, 2026, risk deletion from the register.

NCA requires contractors to settle outstanding annual renewal fees and accrue ten continuous professional development points for licence renewal.
The directive follows concerns over non-compliance and recent building collapses, with a report from January 2026 revealing that 87 percent of audited buildings in Kenya were classified as unsafe.
The NCA will waive all accreditation fees for construction workers and construction site supervisors from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
