Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi has denied accusations of orchestrating chaos at a church service at Wairima ACK Church in Othaya, Nyeri County, also attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Wamumbi stated that police officers linked to his family were lawfully deployed and not involved in a plot to target Gachagua.
- Wamumbi affirmed that the police officers are legitimately attached to his wife, Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina, by the National Police Service (NPS).
- He announced he would record a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday and submit supporting documents, challenging Gachagua to do the same.
- Wamumbi also raised concerns about Gachagua’s security, alleging the former deputy president uses unauthorized police vehicles and sirens.
