A final year student at Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI), Tonny Kimwetich Kangor, has been charged in an Eldoret court with causing grievous harm after allegedly dousing his ex-girlfriend with sulphuric acid. The incident occurred on July 28, 2025, after she reportedly refused to renew their relationship.

• The accused, Tonny Kimwetich Kangor, 24, denied the charge of causing grievous harm to his former girlfriend, Evaline Jelimo Sum, 23.
• The alleged attack took place at SOS area in Kapsoya estate, Uasin Gishu County, as the victim walked to college for her final examination.
• Kangor was released on a bond of Ksh. 60,000 or cash bail of Ksh. 20,000, with the case set for mention on February 9, 2026.
