A US judge has temporarily blocked the deportation of a 5-year-old child and his father, both Ecuadorian asylum seekers, after they were detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minneapolis.

• The superintendent of Columbia Heights Public Schools alleged Ramos was used as "bait" by officers, a claim US immigration authorities deny, stating the boy was picked up after his father fled.
