The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has clarified that mandatory physical fitness tests are intended for public service vehicle (PSV) and commercial drivers only, not all drivers. The authority stated that the nationwide program has not yet been launched, contrary to public speculation.

The NTSA is collaborating with the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) to create a National Framework for Medical Assessment.
A recent health initiative in Nairobi on January 27, organized by ENA Coach, was a voluntary drive, not an official rollout of the mandatory tests.
The NTSA assured the public that any official launch of the physical fitness tests will be communicated via formal Public Notice and verified channels.
