The United Opposition in Kenya announced it will name its single presidential flag bearer for the 2027 General Election after the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) National Delegates Conference, aiming to present a united front against President William Ruto.
The opposition leaders, including DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, confirmed their commitment to unity to deny President Ruto a second term.
They also revealed plans to initiate legal action against those responsible for the recent attack on Rigathi Gachagua in Othaya.
Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua highlighted the coalition's shared vision of restoring constitutionalism and accountability, while DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa stressed that unity is imperative to unseat President Ruto by fielding only one candidate.
