The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested one suspect involved in the brutal assault of a watchman with a panga, captured in viral Mombasa CCTV footage. The suspect was apprehended at a guest house in Bondeni "A" area in Mombasa.

• The assault occurred on the morning of Sunday, January 25, 2025, at 5:43 am.
• A joint team from Mombasa DCI Regional Headquarters, DCI Urban, and Tononoka Police Station conducted the arrest.
• Officers recovered six assorted mobile phones, a blood-stained panga, two knives, and a greyish kanzu matching the attire in the footage.
• The arrested suspect faces robbery with violence charges, while DCI continues to hunt for the second assailant.
