The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has refuted allegations of regional bias in its corruption investigations, stating that all probes are guided by law and policy, not geography or politics.

• EACC Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamud affirmed that investigations are prioritized based on the level of public interest, the amount of public funds at stake, and the profile of implicated individuals.
• Mohamud emphasized that corruption is a widespread issue across Kenya, and isolating one region, such as northern Kenya, is unjustified.
• The EACC has conducted numerous investigations in northern counties, with several files, including recommendations to charge a city governor and other high-ranking officials, forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
