Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has warned that sexual and gender-based violence has surged in Haiti's capital and is being "systematically" used to terrorize the population, particularly women and girls, by armed gangs.

• MSF's Pran Men'm clinic in Port-au-Prince has treated nearly 17,000 survivors of sexual violence over the past decade, with 98 percent being women and girls.
• The number of admissions at the clinic for sexual violence tripled from an average of 95 per month in 2021 to more than 250 in 2025.
• Fifty-seven percent of survivors since 2022 reported being assaulted by members of armed groups, with over 100 patients reporting assaults by 10 or more perpetrators.
• Only one-third of survivors arrive at the clinic within three days of assault, hindering crucial preventative treatment for infections like HIV.
• MSF urges more funding and recognition of sexual violence as a deliberate tool by armed groups.
