A tragic house fire in Busia County, Kenya, has claimed the lives of a father and his two children. The incident occurred on Friday night in Bulagu village, Budalang’i, while the family was asleep.

• Three people, identified as Patrick Bahati and his two children (in Grade Seven and Grade Two), died in the blaze.
• The fire was discovered by a neighbour at approximately 1 a.m., but efforts to rescue the victims were unsuccessful due to the fire's intensity.
• Bunyala Sub-County OCPD Lawrenias Odinga confirmed the incident, stating that investigations into the unknown cause of the fire have been launched and the bodies were moved to the Port Victoria Hospital mortuary.
