The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is undertaking a high-level benchmarking visit to China to study the Communist Party of China (CPC) ahead of launching its own leadership school. This initiative aims to transform UDA into a lasting ideological and institutional force, moving beyond its role as solely an electoral entity.

• A UDA delegation, led by Secretary General Senator Hassan Omar, is currently in Zhejiang Province, China, for intensive training at the Zhejiang Provincial Party School.
• The mission focuses on learning from the CPC’s experience in cadre training, political discipline, and grassroots mobilization, particularly the "Double Eight Strategy," which aligns with Kenya's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
• This visit is part of a broader, multi-year engagement between UDA and the CPC that commenced in 2023, aimed at establishing a modern party school for leadership development and institutional continuity.
