Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii is facing scrutiny over millions of shillings lost due to irregular water revenue management at the Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (Eldowas), as highlighted in the Auditor-General's report for the financial year ended June 30, 2025.

• Eldowas is reportedly losing over Sh1 million daily in unbilled water, with potential losses of up to Sh963.4 million from cancelled water bills.
• The audit revealed that 38 percent of produced water (5.92 million cubic metres) was unbilled, resulting in over Sh373 million in losses annually.
• Governor Bii admitted to cancelling 3,917 transactions due to erroneous bills and attributed unbilled water to theft, meter inaccuracies, and aging infrastructure, while also facing questions regarding the arbitrary write-off of Sh60 million in debts.
