Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has been cleared of a hate speech case by the Milimani Magistrate’s Court after fulfilling court directives. The ruling came after he actively engaged in peace campaigns, reaching over 1,000 people.

• MP Salasya was charged on May 19, 2025, for inflammatory social media remarks.
• The charges were withdrawn following an out-of-court agreement between Salasya and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).
