Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba walked out of Parliament on August 13, 2025, after rejecting Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen's response to questions regarding the Kware quarry killings. She was subsequently suspended for 20 sitting days for contempt of Parliament.

• Gathoni Wamuchomba questioned CS Murkomen extensively on the Kware quarry-turned-dumpsite killings, including the number of bodies recovered and the escape of a prime suspect.
• Murkomen reported that 17 packages of human remains were recovered, five victims identified, and the prime suspect, Collins Jumaisi Halusa, escaped from police custody on August 20, 2024.
• Wamuchomba, known for her confrontational politics, has also publicly opposed the reallocation of Sh1 billion from the Coffee Cherry Advance Revolving Fund and shifted her political allegiance to President William Ruto from his deputy.
• Her flagship school feeding program in Githunguri feeds 30,000 children daily, and she has significantly improved coffee farmer earnings from Sh11 to Sh130 per kg, creating 500 new jobs.
• She champions youth empowerment, with over half of Githunguri's coffee factories run by people under 30, and new initiatives like the avocado society also led by young professionals.
