Kenya participated in the inaugural plenary session of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution (ISP-CWP P1) in Geneva, Switzerland, aimed at strengthening global efforts against chemical pollution and waste. The Kenyan delegation reaffirmed its commitment to international cooperation in managing chemicals and waste.
- The delegation was led by Principal Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, Eng. Festus Ng’eno.
- The ISP-CWP is a newly established independent intergovernmental body tasked with bridging the gap between science and policy in addressing chemicals, waste, and pollution.
- The first session of the plenary is scheduled to run from February 2 to 6, 2026.
