A Turkish tycoon, Osman Erdinc Elsek, was charged in a Mombasa court with terrorism-related counts, including membership in Harakat Al Shabaab Mujahideen. His co-accused, Gokmen Sandikci, was charged with consorting with a person in possession of a firearm.
- Elsek was accused of recording videos at the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) Mombasa police station for alleged terrorist acts and possessing a Glock pistol in Kilifi South.
