In a significant leadership shake-up, Kalonzo Musyoka has been appointed Party Leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, succeeding Raila Odinga who passed away in October last year. This restructuring, announced after a joint session of the Azimio Council and National Executive Committee on February 2, aims to inject renewed political momentum into the opposition.

• The Azimio Coalition Party Council, chaired by former President Uhuru Kenyatta, replaced Junet Mohamed with Suba South MP Caroli Omondi as Secretary General, and named Philip Kisia as Executive Director.
• The changes were confirmed by the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, which notified Mohamed of his removal and advised the coalition to publicize the changes as per Section 20 of the Political Parties Act.
• The restructuring follows Raila Odinga's death from cardiac arrest on October 15, 2025, and aims to provide Azimio with a clear political anchor and consolidate support ahead of the 2027 polls.
