Kenya’s Shujaa and Lionesses are set to host the opening leg of the World Rugby Sevens Division II championships, the Nairobi Sevens, on Valentine’s Day weekend at Nyayo National Stadium. Both teams have expressed readiness to deliver a strong performance, with tickets for the event already sold out.

• Gabriel “Gabby” Ayimba and Janet Okello, representing the teams, are confident of winning the Nairobi Sevens, with Gabby aiming to surpass his late father's rugby legacy.
• Tournament director, Thomas Odundo, confirmed all logistical arrangements are complete and that 11,000 to 11,500 tickets have been sold daily from the available 13,500 seats.
• The Nairobi Sevens features 12 teams (six men’s and six women’s) competing for qualification to the 2026/2027 Division I series.
