The highly anticipated launch of the Kenya United Cup, also known as the President's Cup, a nationwide grassroots football tournament championed by President William Ruto, has been indefinitely postponed from its scheduled date of February 4, 2026, at State House, Nairobi.

• The decision was made after consultation with FKF president Hussein Mohammed and other stakeholders.
• The tournament, designed to nurture talent and promote unity, has an allocated budget of approximately KSh 620.6 million.
• The initiative is part of Kenya's broader sports development agenda, which includes constructing 22 modern stadiums and 30 football academies, and a KSh 600 million performance bonus for the Harambee Stars.
