Police in Thika West Sub-County have arrested three men, aged between 22 and 24 years, suspected of involvement in a series of mobile phone snatching incidents targeting residents in Nairobi and surrounding areas. The suspects reportedly used motorcycles to facilitate their escapes after thefts and were apprehended following intensified patrols by officers from Ngoingwa Police Station.

• A toy pistol was recovered from the suspects, which they allegedly used to intimidate victims.
• The three suspects confessed to traveling from another neighborhood within Nairobi County specifically to carry out thefts in the area.
• This arrest follows a recent operation two weeks ago by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), which dismantled a larger phone theft network, arresting seven suspects and recovering 150 mobile phones, 16 tablets, and six laptops.
