A family in Trans Mara is demanding answers after their 19-year-old son, Victor Sang, died under unclear circumstances during Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) training at the Recruits Training School (RTS) in Eldoret. He is one of three recruits who recently died, raising concerns about safety during military drills. The family disputes the initial explanation that he died of dehydration.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday, February 9, to determine the official cause of death, with family representatives and KDF officials present.
The KDF stated the recruits developed medical complications during a "routine endurance exercise" and were evacuated to Eldoret Regional Hospital.
The family was only allowed to view the upper part of the body, deepening their suspicion and anguish over the details surrounding Victor's death.
