De Heus Kenya is set to open a Sh3 billion (USD 23 million) state-of-the-art animal feed factory in Athi River on February 18, 2026. This significant private-sector investment aims to boost Kenya’s livestock sector by strengthening local feed supply, improving quality, creating employment, and enhancing food security.
- The factory will have an annual production capacity of 200,000 metric tonnes, expandable to 260,000 metric tonnes, making it one of East Africa's largest.
- The launch will be presided over by Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Hon. Mutahi Kagwe, and Principal Secretary for Industry, Dr. Juma Mukhwana.
