Following her impactful "Civic Email" tool, Rose Njeri Tunguru, known as @rtunguru on X, has launched Tuma Report, a new app designed to decentralize news gathering in Kenya. This initiative aims to fill gaps in mainstream media coverage by empowering citizens to report events directly, especially with upcoming elections.

• The Android-only app, which is a lightweight 32MB, has already seen over 10 downloads in its initial hours.
• Developed by Rose Njeri Tunguru, the app was inspired by information blackouts, such as those during the December 2025 clashes in Kakamega County.
• Tuma Report allows for frictionless reporting with no sign-up required, features crowd-moderated content, and prominently displays an "Independence Notice" stating no affiliation with the Government of Kenya.
