- Six governors and other political leaders from Taita-Taveta, Tana-River, Lamu, Kilifi, Kwale, and Mombasa stated their intent to support President Ruto’s re-election bid.
- Likoni MP Mishi Mboko conveyed that the leaders anticipate President Ruto will reciprocate by supporting Hassan Joho in 2032.
- Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir confirmed an upcoming meeting with the President to discuss a 10-point agenda and coalition issues.
- President Ruto, during a meeting with Coast leaders, pledged to resume stalled projects, including the dualling of the Mombasa-Malindi and Mombasa-Lunga Lunga highways, addressing land issues, and upgrading a coastal hospital to national referral status.
