Leaders from Kenya's Coast region have presented conditions to President William Ruto for their support in the 2027 General Election, primarily demanding the completion of pending development projects and future backing for a regional presidential candidate in 2032.

• Six governors and other political leaders from Taita-Taveta, Tana-River, Lamu, Kilifi, Kwale, and Mombasa stated their intent to support President Ruto’s re-election bid.
• Likoni MP Mishi Mboko conveyed that the leaders anticipate President Ruto will reciprocate by supporting Hassan Joho in 2032.
• Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir confirmed an upcoming meeting with the President to discuss a 10-point agenda and coalition issues.
• President Ruto, during a meeting with Coast leaders, pledged to resume stalled projects, including the dualling of the Mombasa-Malindi and Mombasa-Lunga Lunga highways, addressing land issues, and upgrading a coastal hospital to national referral status.
• Earlier, 5,880 young entrepreneurs from Mombasa, Kwale, and Taita-Taveta counties received KSh 139.5 million in business grants through the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (Nyota) project, with each beneficiary receiving KSh 25,000 initially.
