Detectives have apprehended Phillip Kosgei and Tecla Chepchirchir, accused of fatally beating their 19-year-old nephew, Kevin Kipkorir Meli, in Kiplombe Location, Turbo Sub-County on February 2, 2026. The incident reportedly stemmed from an accusation of stealing dry maize.

• Kevin Kipkorir Meli was found dead under an avocado tree at his uncle's homestead with injuries to his head, back, legs, and hands.
• The suspects, uncle Phillip Kosgei and aunt Tecla Chepchirchir, allegedly tied Kevin to an avocado tree and beat him with canes until he lost consciousness and died.
• Investigators recovered a manila rope and broken sticks at the scene, believed to have been used in the assault.
