Kenya has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to bolster the training, research, and institutional capacity of its internal security agencies.

• The pact aims to enhance service delivery, coordination, and adherence to the rule of law within Kenya's security sector.
• Principal Secretary in the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration Dr. Raymond Omollo and Director of UNITAR’s Division for Peace Mr. Evariste Karambizi signed the agreement in Geneva.
• The partnership will target key institutions including the Kenya Police Service, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, and the Kenya Coast Guard Service, reflecting a growing focus on maritime security.
