Kenya and Saudi Arabia have agreed to accelerate their Defence Cooperation Agreement and enhance intelligence sharing following bilateral talks at the World Defence Show 2026 in Saudi Arabia.

• The agreement was reached between Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) General Charles Kahariri and Chairman of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyad Bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili.
• Talks focused on deepening collaboration in the defence industry, technology sharing, and operational cooperation for mutual security interests.
• Kenya is expanding its defence capabilities with new acquisitions like the Israeli-made SPYDER air defence system, costing approximately KSh 3.4 billion, and a KSh 9.1 billion project with the United States to expand the Kenya Navy Base at Manda Bay.
