Pop superstar Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalogue to independent music publisher Primary Wave for an estimated $200 million (£146 million). The sale took place on December 30, according to reports.

• The catalogue includes hits like ...Baby One More Time and Toxic, spanning nine studio albums since 1999.
• Primary Wave has also acquired rights to the estates of other iconic artists, including Notorious BIG, Prince, and Whitney Houston.
• This sale follows a turbulent period for Spears, including the end of her 13-year conservatorship in 2021, and her recent statement in January 2024 that she would “never return to the music industry.”
