The Nairobi County Government is set to begin its annual verification and inspection of weighing and measuring instruments for all traders across the county, starting next week. This initiative aims to ensure fair trade, consumer protection, and accurate pricing.
- The exercise will run from February 16 to May 28 across all sub-counties.
- Godfrey Akumali, the county's Head of Public Service, stated that 46 stamping stations will be established.
- Traders with fixed instruments weighing over 500kg or located more than 20 kilometers from a station will receive on-site inspections.
- This follows the recent launch of a new cashless platform for liquor licensing, as announced by Lydia Mathia, Chief Officer for Hustler and Business Opportunities.
