The Kenyan Government has dispatched one million bags of subsidised fertiliser nationwide, ahead of the long rains planting season. This initiative aims to tackle food insecurity, reduce farming costs, and align with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

Principal Secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Kipronoh Ronoh, flagged off the dispatch at Athi River Railway station.
The fertiliser is destined for key agricultural regions including Kitale, Moi's bridge, and Eldoret, with arrivals expected by Sunday, February 15, 2026.
Logistics involve 18 wagons and over 300 lorries to ensure timely delivery to depots and last-mile centers, benefiting over 7.2 million registered farmers through the Kenya Integrated Agricultural Management Information System (KIAMIS).
