The Nairobi City County Government has disbursed Sh297.5 million in ward bursaries to support needy learners across the capital, marking Governor Johnson Sakaja’s commitment to accessible education. Members of the Nairobi City County Assembly (MCAs) received the cheques for timely payment of school fees for term one of 2026.

• Each of Nairobi’s 85 wards received Sh3.5 million, part of the Sh595 million total bursary allocation for the 2025/2026 financial year.
• County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Talents, Skills Development and Care, Brian Mulama, highlighted the program's importance in keeping vulnerable learners in school.
• The County also set aside Sh262.9 million for the County Executive Scholarship Programme and 2,640 beneficiaries have transitioned to Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for enhanced efficiency.
