Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has urged Mt Kenya residents to disregard what he termed as Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's "intimidation tactics" and support the government. Speaking at a wedding in Kiambu County, CS Ruku emphasized the Kenya Kwanza administration's commitment to development.

• He criticized Gachagua's "chest-thumping politics" over perceived political dominance in the Mt Kenya region.
• The recent Mbeere North by-election where Leo Wamuthende won, defeating candidates allied to Gachagua’s camp, was cited as evidence of shifting political ground.
