Kenya's national rugby sevens teams, Shujaa (men) and Lionesses (women), need to significantly improve their performance in the upcoming Montevideo Sevens to achieve their goal of promotion to the top-tier 2027 HSBC SVNS Division One.

• In the recent Nairobi leg, Shujaa secured four wins out of five, while Lionesses managed only one win out of five matches.
• Shujaa currently sits third in the standings with 16 points, behind leaders Germany (20 points) and USA (18 points).
• The Lionesses are in a more precarious position, ranking fifth with 12 points, trailing Argentina (20 points) and South Africa (18 points).
• The top four teams in both the men's and women's divisions from the Division Two series will earn promotion to the elite HSBC SVNS World Championship Series for 2027.
