Kenya has been selected to host the 2026 World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) Annual Meeting from June 8 to June 11, co-hosted by the Kenya National Farmers’ Federation (KENAFF) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
- The meeting, themed ''Future Fields: Investing in Farmers’ Organisations and Empowering Communities for Sustainable Agriculture,'' will bring together farmers' organizations from 65 countries.
- Mutahi Kagwe, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, expressed that Kenya’s selection is a ''great honour'' and a recognition of farmers’ central role in food security.
- The event aims to redefine agriculture through digital innovation and sustainable land use, aligning with Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) and empowering young people and women in global food systems.
