Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata sustained a heel tendon injury after a freak accident in Nairobi on Tuesday. The injury occurred when the governor tripped during a meeting, rendering him unable to perform physical office duties for approximately one month.

• The injury was a heel tendon injury, sustained while attending a Nutritional International meeting.
• During his absence, Deputy Governor Stephen Munania will represent him in official functions requiring physical presence.
• The County Executive Committee Member for Finance, Prof. Kiari, will handle designated responsibilities.
• The governor will continue to participate in official meetings virtually starting next week.
