Deputy President Kithure Kindiki announced that the NYOTA program will expand to support 2 million Kenyan youth. The initiative, currently in partnership with the World Bank, aims to empower young people through micro and small business support, with the government committing to continued funding after the current project expires.

The first phase of NYOTA has already supported 1 million direct beneficiaries, each receiving an initial 22,000 shillings, with a total allocation of 50,000 shillings including savings.
The Deputy President met with various Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and heads of agencies at the Official Residence in Karen for a review of the NYOTA and KJET programs.
The Kenya Jobs and Economic Transformation (KJET) program, allocated 20 billion shillings, is also being fine-tuned to support established businesses and generate more employment.
